WellBeing at the Convent

Jill’s room at the WellBeing Centre looks onto the large Liquid Amber tree in the cloister which was used for decades by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd for meditation and contemplation.

WellBeing at the Convent is a group of independent health practitioners who are located in the century old heritage-listed Abbotsford Convent precinct.   Jill Humann was one of the first practitioners to begin work at WellBeing at the Convent and has been involved in its evolution from its early days.

Many people comment on the strength they gain from the old buildings and surrounding acres of garden.  Before or after appointments, take time to breathe in and walk your way around the serene environment that the Abbotsford Convent precinct offers.

Wellbeing is the predisposition to feel good and function effectively in all aspects of life.

Jill was attracted to work at a WellBeing Centre because of her desire to work in a well model of health care and also to be in a community setting.

According to VicHealth, mental health is not merely the absence of mental illness. It is the embodiment of social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It is fundamental to physical health, productivity in the workplace, school, family and overall quality of life. Mental health provides individuals with the vitality necessary for active living, to achieve goals and to interact with one another in ways that are respectful and just.
