Appointments

Making the time for counselling is the first and most important step towards facing and overcoming issues that are of autumn leaves
concern.

Many people are new to the idea of counselling and may be wondering whether therapy would be useful for them, whilst others simply wish to find out more about Jill’s counselling approach and talk to her directly.

Jill is very happy for people to call her to discuss any concerns and to answer any questions they may have so that they are clear as to the best way forward for them.

Wellbeing at the Convent

Melways reference – 44 G5

Hours Available

Jill works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
She works one Saturday a month.
After hours and before hours are also available.

Directions

WellBeing at the Convent is located on the first floor of the East Wing of the Convent Building; the red brick building to the right of the Convent Bakery Café.  You will know you are at the correct building as there is a sign out the front saying WellBeing at the Convent.  Proceed up the wooden stairs to the first floor and turn right and there is a Waiting Room immediately on your right.

There is an ATM machine between the bakery and the WellBeing Centre; ask at the Convent Bakery Cafe or Cameron at the St Helier Street Community Store and Gallery for directions.

Wheelchair access is available via a lift/elevator in the south-east of the building. The lift can be reached by continuing to the right of the convent building until you come to the cloistered area with the large central tree.  Keep to the left of the covered courtyard area and go through the door directly in front.  Once
inside the building, (not the beautifully tiled corridor) turn immediately to the left, and you will find the lift/elevator.

Rebates

Medibank Private members with eligible levels of cover are able to claim a rebate on Jill's individual counselling services.

Jill’s fees are not covered by Medicare but this may not be an issue as her current fees are less than the Medicare gap fee levied by many practitioners. Couple counselling is generally not eligible for rebate through any health fund.

At this stage, the government's Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative does not grant people working in a well model of health care permission to offer a Medicare rebate.  Organisations such as PACFA, ACA and CAPAV are working hard to ensure that better access to counselling can occur for everyone (not just those diagnosed as having Mental Health issues) in the near future.

You may be eligible for the medical expenses tax offset of 20% of the excess of net medical expenses over the spending threshold of $1,500. Rebatable medical expenses include payments for therapeutic treatment provided the treatment is administered at the direction of a medical practitioner. Speak to your tax adviser or accountant to confirm if you qualify for this.

Work coaching is usually tax deductible.  Once again, speak to your accountant to confirm this applies to your work situation.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or electronic banking; EFTPOS or credit card facilities are not available.
